		<p><strong>November 15, 2025</strong> – Austin, Texas</p>
<p data-start="166" data-end="544">Nurse Recruitment Experts (NRX), a healthcare workforce solutions provider, is investing $250,000 to launch a Rural Health Workforce Transformation Hub. The Hub will support critical access hospitals, federally qualified health centers, rural clinics, and other providers in rural areas to improve recruitment and retention of healthcare professionals.</p>
<p data-start="546" data-end="811">NRX’s investment includes creating 2 new jobs in rural communities, providing $35,000 in pro-bono recruitment and retention technical assistance, and producing a wide range of value-adding resources. Its creation is largely in response to rural healthcare cuts caused by HR.1/the <a href="https://nurserecruitmentx.com/podcast/big-beautiful-bill-nurse-recruitment/">One Big Beautiful Bill Act. </a>The Center will support rural providers across four areas:</p>
<p data-start="813" data-end="1174"><strong data-start="813" data-end="824">Respond</strong><br data-start="824" data-end="827" />Grant writing strategy, incentive program design, and technical proposal development for awards, including the 50 billion dollar Rural Health Transformation Program, state-level funds, and other workforce grants. NRX will produce a Rural Workforce Transformation Plan, labor market insights, and grant-ready materials that strengthen applications.</p>
<p data-start="1176" data-end="1559"><strong data-start="1176" data-end="1187">Recruit</strong><br data-start="1187" data-end="1190" />Public awareness campaigns that support “Grow Your Own” efforts and attract students and non-healthcare workers into pathways such as Community Health Workers and Nursing Assistants. NRX will support Rural Health Workforce Transformation by releasing a recruitment campaign template for providers that includes videos, photos, landing pages, social ads, messaging guides, candidate email sequences, and sourcing scripts.</p>
<p data-start="1561" data-end="1917"><strong data-start="1561" data-end="1574">Re-Locate</strong><br data-start="1574" data-end="1577" />Social media recruitment marketing and incentive-based staff relocation campaigns focused on Doctors, Nurses, Behavioral Health professionals, and Allied Health workers living in urban areas. NRX’s developers will release an interactive digital relocation hub that showcases rural lifestyle, housing, schools, and cost-of-living advantages.</p>
<p data-start="1919" data-end="2189"><strong data-start="1919" data-end="1929">Retain</strong><br data-start="1929" data-end="1932" />Software partnerships and tools that support onboarding, engagement strategies, and community integration. NRX and partners will develop onboarding toolkits, retention templates, stay interview guides, staff story content, and supervisor communication kits.</p>
<p data-start="2191" data-end="2329">Each component includes free resources that any provider can access, with options for rural organizations to invest in additional support for Rural Health Workforce Transformation.</p>

<p>Trump’s new “Big Beautiful Bill” just passed. Behind the political theatrics, the legislation could bring a cascade of funding shifts to U.S. healthcare.</p>



<p>For nurse recruiters, the consequences are very real: budget cuts, hiring freezes, stalled wage growth, and a tightening candidate pool.</p>



<p>Hospitals are already under pressure. This bill adds more.<br></p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Hospitals Could Lose Billions</strong></h2>



<p>The legislation is expected to cut $4.5 trillion from hospital revenue and reduce federal healthcare spending by $1.2 trillion. Medicaid will take the biggest hit — 12 million people may lose coverage.</p>



<p>That loss of insured patients affects everything from elective procedures to emergency care volumes. And for recruiters, it means lower margins, fewer job openings, and harder conversations with candidates.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Margins Shrink. Recruiting Gets Tougher.</strong></h2>



<p>Average hospital profit margins have hovered between 1%–3% since the pandemic. This bill threatens to push them even lower.</p>



<p>Expect to see:</p>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Fewer open roles</li>



<li>Flat wage offers</li>



<li>Frozen budgets for recruitment marketing</li>
</ul>



<p>Recruiters will be asked to maintain hiring targets without the tools or incentives to do so.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Rural Hospitals Face a Double Bind</strong></h2>



<p>There’s $50 billion earmarked for rural health transformation. That sounds helpful — until you do the math.</p>



<p>50% of rural hospital revenue comes from Medicaid. If Medicaid loses nearly a trillion dollars in support, that $50B is a drop in the bucket.</p>



<p>Rural hospitals will need to:</p>



<p>Lead with regional identity, not just job specs</p>



<p>Recruit from cities using lifestyle-focused campaigns</p>



<p>Emphasize safety, nature, and affordability</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Immigration Backlog = Workforce Bottleneck</strong></h2>



<p>Roughly 14–16% of U.S. nurses are foreign-born. Right now, visa processing is frozen. If this legislation locks in stricter caps, that freeze could last.</p>

<p>More nurses can’t be hired if they aren’t being trained.</p>



<p>Last year, 80,000 qualified applicants were turned away from U.S. nursing schools. The reason: not enough faculty or clinical placement slots.</p>



<p>The “Big Beautiful Bill” does not solve this.</p>

<p>The nursing shortage is not just about numbers. It’s a national challenge about lives, burnout, and impossible choices.</p>



<p>At our recent Nurse Recruitment Secrets webinar, we reviewed emotional testimony from the Nevada Senate Committee on Health and Human Services. Nurses spoke in support of Senate Bill 182, which proposes nurse-to-patient staffing ratios aligned with national standards.</p>



<p>“Sometimes you feel like you just escaped the fire, and you’re not looking forward to going back in,” said Elizabeth Bullhouse, a nurse of 27 years.</p>



<p>“When a nurse has 10 patients in a 12-hour shift, that’s less than six minutes per hour per patient,” added Jody Dominick, a nurse with 19 years of experience. “Add a phone call, handwashing, charting—how are you supposed to care for someone safely?”</p>



<p>As hospital leaders work to navigate this ongoing shortage, here are five critical facts every executive should know—and act on.</p>

<li>A New York study showed that hospitals saved $720 million over two years thanks to lower infection rates and reduced readmissions.</li>



<li>In just two Nevada hospitals, over 6,000 Assignment Despite Objection (ADO) forms were filed in four years.</li>
</ul>



<p>Staffing reform isn’t unproven—it’s already working elsewhere.</p>
