Rural & Remote Nurse Recruitment
2022-2023
CHALLENGE.
PeaceHealth serves multiple rural and semi-rural communities across Alaska, Oregon, and Washington, including Springfield, Eugene, Cottage Grove, and Florence. These regions face persistent hiring challenges due to limited local talent pools, geographic isolation, and competition from urban systems with larger candidate networks. PeaceHealth needed a scalable recruitment approach that could attract qualified nurses from outside their immediate markets.
SOLUTION.
To overcome the lack of local candidates, we launched targeted advertising and sourcing campaigns across Portland, California, and nationwide hubs with high concentrations of experienced nurses open to relocation. Our strategy included audience segmentation, relocation-focused messaging, and continuous optimization based on click-through and conversion performance. We also maintained open communication with PeaceHealth’s sourcing leadership to ensure real-time alignment.
RESULTS.
163 applications
Our efforts delivered 163 new nurse applicants, significantly expanding PeaceHealth’s hiring pipeline and reducing the pressure on local recruitment efforts.
“Nurse Recruitment Experts have been really good about feedback and open communication"
“They’ve done a really good job tracking and reporting what they’re doing; sharing with us some of our challenges that we already kind of knew but reinforced it, and really kept us up to date on what activities are going on in the communities that we are recruiting and sourcing for.”
Matt Craven, Sourcing Director, PeaceHealth
